New Generation of PVD Coating Technology & Equipment

The TiN physica1 vapor deposition (PVD ) equipment and technology was developed by CTRl in l980's and won the Science & Technology Progress Award by the then Ministry of Machinery and Electronics lndustry. The complete technology has been transferred to several Chinese factories, and the coated products by this technology have been sold to other countries and regions.pvd1.jpg (16154 ×Ö½Ú)
Hard coating film features low friction coefficient, low affinity for workpiece, small wear and high chemical stability. The scrvice life of the coated cutting tools can be raised by 3-10 times, cutting efficiency by 30-100%, thus considerably lowering the production cost. During the seventh five-year plan, based on all the advanced technologies at home and abroad, CTRl has successfully developed and manufactured the first arc plasma magnetic deposition
equipment LRH-800, with advanced principle, large single-fumace Ioad, good reliability and high coating quality. The annual furnace production capacity and production efficiency has come up to the intemational level.
In eary l990s, a new generation of arc plasma magnotic deposition equipment, CTI-830, has been successfully developed again.
CTI-830 employs TiC, Ti(C.N), Ti(Al.N) and composite multi-layer coating technology, one of the most successfully used PVD technologies, instead of the TiN single-layer coating technology The working temperathe of PVD technllogy is below 500¡ãC, lower than annealing temperature of high speed steels, hot tool steels and some cold tool steels. Such coating process can be used for the final procedure of tool production, without producing any deformation. They are suitable for the surface coating of all cutting tools, dies and machinery pats, as well as expensive ornaments gold coating. Recently, PVD compound coating technology for complicated precision carbide forming tools has been developed.
